Adaptive Center Pool


DIRECTIONS:  From I-40, Merge onto TN-158 W/James White Pkwy. via Exit 388A toward James White Pkwy. Take the exit toward Summit Hill Dr. Turn left onto E. Summit Hill Dr. E. Summit Hill Dr. becomes Dandridge Ave. End at 2235 Dandridge Ave Knoxville, TN 37915-2900.  This facility is adjacent to the Williams Creek Golf Course.  Bare immediately right at entrance parking lot to bottom of the hill.

The Williams Creek Community Center & Pool (formerly the Knoxville Adaptive Recreation Center) is ADA Compliant, containing a gymnasium, 2 indoor pickleball courts, and indoor swimming pool with ramp and lift entry.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


AQUA ARTHRITIS STRETCH COURSE
This 45-minute warm water class is designed to improve joint flexibility and ease pain and stiffness.  It's gentle, low-impact, and suitable for all fitness levels - no swimming skills required.

AQUATIC CARDIO COURSE
Move to the rhythm with a variety of exercises designed to boost muscle strength, flexibility, and heart health. This 45-minute class is ideal for those with moderate fitness levels and is safe for non-swimmers.  Please speak with your physician or facility staff if you have any questions.

AQUA WALK
Aqua walking is a gentle, low-impact exercise in warm water at waist-to-chest depth.  Designed for self-paced participation, it supports joint health while helping improve mobility and overall fitness.

AQUA BALANCE
Aqua Balance is a low-impact warm water class held at waist-to-chest depth, designed to support joint health while improving balance, stability, and coordination.  It offers a safe and supportive environment to enhance overall mobility.


RULES AND REGULATIONS IN CITY COMMUNITY CENTERS

POOL RULES
1) All children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult 18 yrs or older
2) No food or drink in pool area
3) No alcoholic beverages on premises
4) Only appropriate swimming attire allowed (What to Wear & Not to Wear [PDF])
5) No flotation devices or foreign objects allowed in pool
6) No running in pool area
7) No diving
8) No smoking in pool area
9) No glass in pool area
10) No horseplay
11) No firearms or knives
12) Swim pants/diapers required for all children not toilet trained

CENTER RULES
The following are prohibited in city community centers:
1) Possession of firearms and weapons
2) Possession of drugs, alcohol, or any elicit substance
3) Smoking or use of tobacco products
4) Gambling
5) Use of profanity
6) Fighting
7) Dunking or hanging on rims of basketball goals
8) Pets
9) Only indoor court shoes allowed (ex: tennis shoes or non-marking soles)

Violation of these rules or any other rules set by individual centers may result in suspension from this center and others. Suspension terms will be set by each center.
