Special Events are a very important part of any community’s quality of life, they enhance our local community, provide an economic benefit to businesses, promote cultural diversity and provide affordable entertainment. The City of Knoxville’s Office of Special Events is committed to working with event organizers and city departments to produce successful and safe events with minimal impact on the environment, surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.

This office is responsible for all special events that happen on city property within the City of Knoxville.

Special Events Coordinating meetings take place quarterly, in January, April, July, and October, on the fourth Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at the Knoxville Coliseum Ball Room.

For more information, call the Office of Special Events at 865-215-4248.

Please fill out the appropriate forms and return to our office 60 days in advance to your event.

Events taking place on property owned or leased by the City of Knoxville must follow COVID-19 Safety guidelines. These guidelines are based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance. Each event organizer must coordinate their plan with the respective venue staff and/or Special Events Office. DUE TO THE CONTINUOUS CHANGES WITH COVID-19 GUIDANCE, THE CITY OF KNOXVILLE MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL SAFETY REGULATIONS AND MAY CANCEL YOUR EVENT AT ANY TIME FOR SAFETY REASONS.

See Updated Event Guidelines for Covid-19

To have your event added to the city's event calendar, please submit the event to the Special Events Office by calling 865-215-4248 or send an email to [email protected].
