The City of Knoxville Parks & Recreation Department is excited about a summer filled with fun, friends, and amazing experiences. Summer Camp is offered for children ages 6-12 years old at nine (9) community centers located across the city and one site with a teen camp for kids age 12-16 years old.

The Knoxville Outdoor Recreation Experience (KORE) program spans over 7 weeks in June and July (excluding June 19 and the week of July 3-7) and provides a wide variety of recreational activities while at the Center and includes field trips to outdoor pools and local attractions, such as Main Event, NASCAR Speedpark, Kentucky Splash Waterpark, and others. Breakfast/lunch or lunch/snack served each day.

For example, pay by Friday, June 9th for Week 2 (June 12-16)

FOR THOSE ON WAIT LIST – You will be contacted if space becomes available.  Please consider registering at a site that has space available.

Emails to those pre-registered have been sent through our system.  If you did not receive this email, please check your spam/junk folder, log in to your account to make sure your email address is correct and that you are “subscribed” to receive emails, so you don’t miss any emails in the future. If you unsubscribe you will not receive notifications about registration or during the camp.

• Forms to Complete - During the registration process, you must complete all “Forms”, many of which are required in order to advance to the next page and complete the registration process. Forms / Documentation Overview [PDF]

• Fees Due - The Registration Fee, Non-Resident Fee, and First Week Attending MUST be paid now. Additional weeks can be paid now or can be paid throughout the summer by the Friday prior to the week of the camp. You must select weeks to pay for first, then other fees are “applied” / included at the end before payment. The Registration Fee and Non-Resident Fee are shown as a “Membership” in the system.

• Authorized Pickups - Please add Authorized Pickups to your account and review what you may have already submitted.

• Subscribe to Emails - Please make sure that your account is “subscribed” to receive emails as you may receive information by email (for instance, if a bus is stuck in traffic and the group may not be back to the Center by 4pm)

• Registration Details - You MAY ONLY register your child at the location where they were pre-registered. All sites will be visible for registration at the link below if you are pre-registered at any site, however if you register your child at a different site than where you are pre-registered, we will manually move your child to the site where the child is pre-registered. No exceptions. Please only Formally Register a child at one site. Many are pre-registered at multiple sites, tying up spots from others.

• Direct Link -  Click here for a direct link to start the Formal Registration Process. Make sure you are signed in and have selected your child’s name as who you are registering. Click “Camps” then select the Site where you have pre-registered (for instance Deane Hill – Summer Camp – FORMAL REGISTRATION). It will say “Priority only” so you can only proceed if you are pre-registered.

Computers are available at each community center to use, if needed.

Costs: • City Resident Registration Fee - $30 ($10 off if registered by June 1)
• Non-City Resident Fee - $60

• Weekly Fee -  $20 per week or $25 per week for Teen Camp

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION 2023


A limited number of full scholarships are available for qualifying families. Scholarship applications must be submitted by June 1, 2023, however, a limited number of scholarships are available, so the funds may be claimed before June 1.

• Please register and pay online to save your spot at the camp location of your choice. If you choose not to register in advance, space at a site is not guaranteed.

• If scholarship is awarded, registration fee and weekly fee(s) will be refunded (or waived if approved before submitting payment and space in camp site available).The non-resident fee and fee for an additional camp t-shirt ($10) are not refundable.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Scholarship eligibility is based on current participation in one of these programs (LIHEAP, SNAP (food stamps), Head Start, Section 8, Public Housing, or Families First) and/or based on your monthly household income (2 in household - $2,268, 3 in household - $2,859, 4 in household - $3,450, 5 in household - $4,041, 6 in household - $4,632, 7 in household - $5,223, 8 in household - $5,814)

OTHER CAMPS


ART CAMPS
The Knoxville Arts Center (KAC) offers half-day art camps during the summer months.  Each week there will be two different camps offered:  a morning session (9am-12pm) and an afternoon session (1pm-4pm), each session will take place Monday through Friday.  Each session will have a different theme.  Camps include: clay, drawing, painting, printmaking and so much more!  All materials are included in the price of the camp.  Campers can come to one session per week or both.

Ages: Sessions for ages varying from 8 to 15 years old
