On Tuesday, March 21 at noon in the fifth-floor atrium of the City County Building, Mayor Madeline Rogero and KPD Chief David Rausch will discuss issues affecting immigrant communities in Knoxville, and Mayor Rogero will read a proclamation for a Day of Immigration Action.
This is part of a series of events coordinated in cities across the country by the U.S. Conference of Mayors for a Cities’ Day of Immigration Action. The bipartisan group of mayors is emphasizing the vital contributions that immigrants make to their cities and the nation. They are urging the Administration and Congress to focus on common-sense reforms that will fix the nation’s broken immigration system in an efficient, effective and compassionate way.
