Across all departments, the City of Knoxville spends more than $100 million each year on an array of goods and services that include everything from architectural and engineering services to pest control, and from automotive parts to liquid soap. Of these expenditures, all purchases over $12,500 are handled by buyers in the Purchasing Division who are committed to maintaining the highest level of open, free market competition while at the same time actively encouraging local small business participation.
The City's policy is to achieve the highest degree of open, free market competition when soliciting pricing and/or proposals.
