DIRECTIONS: Take Western Avenue exit off of I-640; go east about one mile; turn left onto Knoxville College Drive; then take the second left onto Reynolds Street; park is on the right behind the school. Park is located adjacent to Ed Cothren Pool.

HOURS & COST
OUTDOOR POOL SEASON: Ed Cothren Pool opens Memorial Day weekend (May 24, 2025). Pool hours shift to weekends only through Labor Day once Knox Co Schools is back in session.
GROUP DISCOUNTS: Groups (such as daycares, summer camps, schools, churches with staff/chaperones) of 10 be pre-approved by filling out this
Group Request Form in advance. Group discounts available if group is scheduled and pre-approved.
COSTS: $3 per person per visit.
Splash Pass [PDF] available for frequent visitors - 10 admissions for $25 and 20 admissions for $45.
HOURS: Open Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

HISTORY OF ED COTHREN POOL
1st Lieutenant Edward Cothren, Jr (1920 –1944) served with the Buffalo Soldiers unit on the front lines in Italy during World War II.He was the first African-American soldier from Knoxville to die in World War II. Cothren was a graduate of Austin High School and Knoxville College. He is buried in Knoxville’s National Cemetery.The Leslie Street Park Pool was renamed after Cothren in his honor in 1946. The pool was relocated to a new location in 1995.
