City Offices Closed Dec. 22, 25 and Jan. 1, 2024

City of Knoxville offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 22, Monday, Dec. 25, and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. 

Closures include the 311/211 Center for Service Innovation. To make a 311 request any time, use the MyKnoxville app for iPhone and Android. A list of social services and community resources for food, housing, mental health assistance, etc., is available on the app and at TN211.org. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911. 

Residents should be aware of these other holiday-related schedules: 

Knoxville Area Transit buses and trolleys will run on a regular schedule Sunday, Dec. 24 and Sunday, Dec. 31. KAT will be closed with no service on Monday, Dec. 25. and Monday, Jan. 1.

There will be no household garbage or recycling collection on Monday, Dec. 25, and Waste Connections’ office will be closed. Monday routes will be picked up Tuesday, Tuesday routes will be picked up Wednesday, and so on through Saturday, Dec. 30. Regular trash and recycling schedules will resume on Monday, Jan. 1.

Downtown trash and recycling will not be picked up on Monday, Dec. 25. 

Properly bagged excess holiday household trash and broken-down cardboard set next to full garbage carts will be picked up between Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, and Friday, Jan. 5, 2024. 

The City's five recycling centers will be open over the holiday, however the Goodwill station will be staffed for household goods donations for a half-day on Sunday, Dec. 24, and wholly unstaffed Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1. Please don’t leave household goods at unattended centers. 

The City's Solid Waste Facility will be closed Friday, Dec. 22, through Monday, Dec. 25, with normal hours resuming Tuesday, Dec. 26. For the New Year’s holiday, the facility will be closed Saturday, Dec. 30 and Monday, Jan. 1 with normal hours resuming Tuesday, Jan. 2.
