On Thursday, Oct. 22, Mayor Rogero, City Council members and Engineering staff will dedicate a new $3.7 million drainage system at Cross Park Drive that’s capable of handling a water flow of more than 280,000 gallons per minute.
The drainage system spans 3,200 linear feet and includes roadway, channel and culvert upgrades on Cross Park Drive from Park Village Road to the Ten Mile Creek crossing near Bridgewater Road.
For years, Cross Park Drive has been subject to chronic flooding that has disrupted traffic flow, even during moderate rains. More than 400 acres of land drain to this location.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 in the parking lot at the southeast corner of Park Village Road and Cross Park Drive.
Anyone needing a disability accommodation to attend the ribbon-cutting should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Stephanie Cook, at
