Who: The TYP's Advisory Board is a 17-member body appointed by Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam. Its members are drawn from neighborhood groups, the business community, organizations that serve the homeless and government agencies. The Ten-Year Plan Advisory Board offers guidance to the staff but it does not act in a directive capacity.
Typically the Ten-Year Plan staff presents a detailed progress report to the advisory board during the quarterly meetings followed by a discussion. The meetings are always open to the public and the reports are available at
