Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures in the Sequoyah Hills Area and Chapman Hwy.
(Sequoyah Hills) Sequoyah Hills Area Road Closures [August 13-17] – KUB contract crews will implement the below road closures as needed daily, Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., August 13-17, as work continues on the wastewater collection system in the area:
• Arrowhead Trail between Blows Ferry Road and Lyons View Pike
• Hiawatha Drive between Noelton Drive and Towanda Trail
• Towanda Trail between Scenic Drive and Shawnee Lane
• Wilani Road between Southgate Road and Taliluna Avenue
Additionally, Alta Vista Way between Blows Ferry Road and Noelton Drive will be closed continuously from 7 a.m., Monday, August 13, through 5 p.m., Friday, August 17, due to extensive excavation. Access to area homes will be maintained, and flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. Roadways will be re-opened outside of work hours. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary.
(South Knoxville) Chapman Highway Continuous Lane Closure [Extended, August 10-17] – KUB contract crews will maintain a closure of a short section of the southbound right turn lane of Chapman Highway beginning at IHOP/CVS to Mountain Grove Drive, from 5 p.m., Friday, August 10, through 5 p.m., Friday, August 17, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the in the area. Both southbound lanes, the center turn lane, and both northbound lanes will remain open during this time and turn access to Mountain Grove Drive will be maintained. Access to local business will be maintained, and flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
