Public Meeting June 27, 2018 on Preservation and Mediation in Parkridge Neighborhood

Posted: 06/21/2018
A proposed expansion of the existing H-1 historical overlay in the Parkridge neighborhood created intense community debate and disagreement last year.

At Mayor Rogero’s request, City Council delayed action on the proposal in November 2017 to allow time for more discussion.

Since then, Mayor Rogero, Councilwoman McKenzie and City staff members have met with many representatives of the Parkridge community to better understand their priorities and concerns.

A public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on June 27, 2018 at the John T. O'Connor Senior Center at 611 Winona St. Mayor Madeline Rogero, City Councilwoman Gwen McKenzie and City and MPC staff will be present.

This public meeting will continue that dialogue, in an effort to identify common goals and possible next steps in both preservation and possible mediation for neighborhood residents and property owners.

Anyone needing a disability accommodation to attend the public meeting should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Stephanie Cook, at [email protected] or 865-215-2034. For an English interpreter, contact Title VI Coordinator Tatia M. Harris at 865-215-2831.
