Jazz returns to Market Square on Sept. 2, 2025, after taking a summer break.
For five Tuesdays in a row, some of Knoxville’s most talented jazz musicians will perform for audiences in Market Square. No cover charge.
The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Concerts on the Square is presented by Axle Logistics. All concerts are 7-9 p.m.
Jazz Tuesdays:
Sept. 2: David Slack/Norman Mannella
Sept. 9: Shawn Turner
Sept. 16: Vance Thompson Quartet
Sept. 23: Todd Marcus Quintet featuring Virginia MacDonald
Sept. 30: Mark Boling Trio
Two additional events on Market Square will be held in September:
Sept. 11: Symphony on the Square. Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performs; guests include Knoxville Poet Laureate Linda Parsons and pianist Lara Downes.
Sept. 18: Square on the Square. The final Variety Thursday concert of the year features a live band and square dancing led by a caller.
Attendees should bring their own chairs for first-come, first-served seating. No food or beer will be sold on Market Square. Food is available from restaurants for take-out, but alcohol can only be consumed inside establishments or on their patios.
