Pedestrian Bridge

The Knoxville South Waterfront Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge was identified as a key investment through the extensive community driven process to support greater connectivity and economic development in Knoxville. In January 2025, the City of Knoxville announced $24.7M from RAISE Grant funding was awarded to support the proposed bridge project.

The pedestrian-bicycle bridge aims to provide more efficient, sustainable access to jobs, services, work, and school while maximizing pedestrian and bicycle safety across the Tennessee River. It will expand the pedestrian-bicycle network connecting 18 miles of greenways, more than 50 miles of Urban Wilderness, Volunteer Landing, and the South Knoxville Riverwalk.
