 Employee Workplace Charging Registration Form

The City of Knoxville's Sustainability Office is offering EV charging to all City County Building employees parking in the City County Building Garage, excluding Knox County employees. This program provides electric vehicle (EV) charging on L5 in support of sustainable transportation, improved air quality, and reduced tailpipe emissions. To take advantage of this free service, please review the regulations below and register your vehicle before charging.

This guide offers rules for usage, promotes charging etiquette, and provides a contact for operations and maintenance of the L5 chargers - all critical elements for a convenient and fair charging program. By registering, employees agree to the following rules:

  • Employees must register below before charging.
  • Employees must provide their contact information for official use (i.e., notifications for facility maintenance, system malfunctions, emergencies, special event closures, usage survey requests, etc.)
  • The L5 EV charging spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis to all City County Building employees who park in the City County Building Garage, excluding Knox County employees.
  • Chargers located on L6 are reserved exclusively for City Fleet EVs and may not be used for personal vehicles or non-EVs. Employee charging is only offered on L5.
  • Vehicles that charge in the morning must move by 12:30 PM to allow for other vehicles to charge during the afternoon. Vehicles that receive three citations for noncompliance will be removed from the program.
  • The charging plug and cord must be placed neatly back with the charger. Cords left on the ground are safety hazards.
  • Do not attempt repairs on the charging equipment; instead, please report any damaged equipment immediately to the City's Office of Sustainability (contact info below).
  • Employees may not park in the charging spaces without charging.
  • No overnight charging allowed for personal EVs.
  • Employees using the charging stations may not tamper with, and/or unplug another vehicle without the owner's consent.
  • The City shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect or consequential damages or injuries to persons or property resulting from the use of charging stations.
  • Employees who fail to adhere to these regulations are subject to loss of charging station privileges.
  • These rules are subject to change if demand for chargers increases or for any other reason.
Emergency Procedures:
  • In the event of an emergency, call 911.
  • For security matters, call the PBA security line at 865-215-2246.
  • For program and registration issues or damaged equipment, please contact the Sustainability Office at 865-215-2607 or [email protected].
By carefully following these regulations and procedures, CCB employees will retain convenient access to EV workplace charging. Thank you for your participation.
