Update #7: Installing a Pedestrian Path

In the coming weeks, look for more activity on the eastern end of the Sevier Avenue Streetscapes Project construction zone.

Whaley Construction crews will begin installation of a box culvert at the intersection of Island Home Avenue and Sevier Avenue, and demolition of an old retaining wall in that area will start.

The City and the construction team agree that maintaining pedestrian connectivity throughout the streetscape project is a priority. As part of that commitment, Whaley crews are beginning the installation of a pedestrian path that people will be able to use to get safely through or around the work zone once the construction pace picks up.

In addition, Southern Constructor crews will continue their work installing duct banks and other infrastructure on Foggy Bottom Street.

AT&T will be moving its overhead lines from a pole on south side of Island Home, near the railroad tracks, which will allow the pole to be removed.
