Whaley Construction, one of the contractors working on the Sevier Avenue Streetscapes Project, has been issued a permit to close Foggy Bottom Street between Sevier at Island Home Boulevard and Waterfront Drive at the roundabout.
The closure could begin as early as this week. This eastern end of the construction project area is where a traffic roundabout will be built. The closure will allow Whaley crews to install duct banks and storm sewers and make other street improvements.
Access will be continually maintained to all businesses along Sevier Avenue. While Foggy Bottom is closed, Suttree Landing Park is easily accessible from Sevier Avenue by turning north onto Barber, Claude or Dixie streets.
