Motorists traveling on I-40 in Knoxville should be alert for lane closures that will have a significant impact on travel again this weekend.
Weather permitting, beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 through 6 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018, I-40 East and West will be reduced to two lanes near Mile Markers 380 and 381 (I-40 Bridges over Montvue Road and Buckingham Drive) as crews perform bridge repairs in this area.
Crews will be working around the clock to complete the next phase of these scheduled repairs.
Motorists should expect potential long delays, adjust travel times, and seek alternate routes.
Motorists should be alert as workers will be present and there will likely be slowed or stopped conditions. Motorists should use extreme caution through this area.
