The City’s 285,000-gallon pool at Inskip Park boasts a high dive, two low dives, a baby pool, three covered pavilions and a sand volleyball court.

Come next spring, the increasingly-popular pool will have new concrete decks – a $261,526 investment.

City Council tonight authorized Mayor Indya Kincannon to execute an agreement with Cagle Development to replace the existing wooden decking with the upgrade to concrete. The project also includes ADA accessibility improvements to the pool decks and shelter.

Of the five companies that submitted proposals, Cagle Development’s bid was the lowest and most responsive.

The City has made other recent improvements to the widely-used12-acre park, which has a playground, shelters, picnic tables, disc golf, and tennis/pickleball courts.

Last year, the City reimbursed Legacy Parks Foundation for its $263,530 acquisition of a key parcel of private property adjacent to the tennis courts. The transaction increased the park’s footprint and its aesthetics. City Public Service crews razed a dilapidated, vacant house on the site, and the property now is grassy open park space.

The City and the Village at Inskip, a new affordable housing community adjacent to the park, are jointly building sidewalks and a crosswalk with pedestrian actuated flashing lights on Bruhin Road. 

A Knoxville Area Transit bus stop is scheduled to be constructed in early 2027 on Bruhin Road near the pool.
