
Wednesday morning at 11:32 a.m., the Knox County Communications District received a call from a homeowner that there was a fire in their home.
Upon arrival by the first Knoxville fire units, there was no visible smoke showing on the outside of the home.
The initial arriving crews forced entry into the home via the front door, where they were met with smoky conditions and a small fire.
KFD was able to extinguish the fire immediately.
The homeowner was in the home at the time of the fie. KFD crews were able to get the victim out quickly. The victim had sustained minor smoke inhalation injuries.
The fire was small and contained to the living room area. The home sustained minimal smoke, fire, and water damage.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
KFD investigators have determined that the cause of the fire was related to misuse of smoking materials.
