At 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, the Knoxville Emergency Communications District received a call about a fire in a bedroom at 4205 Thornwood Drive. The caller advised that he and his mother were evacuating the home.
On the arrival of the initial KFD units, light smoke was showing from the front of the home. Quick actions by the initial crew rapidly extinguished the fire, keeping it from extending to the rest of the home. The fire was extinguished within 3 minutes of the initial company's arrival.
One female occupant was transported by AMR to a local hospital for evaluation of smoke inhalation.
The male occupant, two dogs, and one rabbit escaped unharmed.
The home has suffered mild smoke and water damage.
The Knoxville Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit is on the scene, working to determine a cause.
