Mayor Indya Kincannon has announced that Ellie Moore will join her staff as the City’s Downtown Coordinator.
Moore brings 13 years of experience coordinating programming downtown, activating public spaces to support economic vitality, and navigating policy and planning decisions that shape Knoxville’s center city.
"I’m honored to join the City in this new role and work alongside the merchants, residents, partners, and City departments who shape downtown Knoxville. Clear communication, strong coordination, and data-driven solutions are essential to a thriving downtown, and I’m committed to serving as a connector across stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and support its continued vitality."
“Ellie’s experience working alongside downtown merchants makes her a familiar and trusted face,” Mayor Kincannon said. “She is the ideal candidate to help continue the positive momentum downtown.”
The City’s Chief Operating Officer Grant Rosenberg will oversee the coordinator position.
Moore is currently Chief Operating Officer of Nourish Knoxville, the nonprofit organization that operates the Market Square Farmers Market and other markets, as well as publishes the East Tennessee Food Guide.
Her first day with the City will be March 16, 2026.
