Posted: 05/21/2025
City of Knoxville offices will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, for the Memorial Day holiday.

The closure includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers. Residents who need to report issues to 311 or access 211 services are encouraged to download the My Knoxville app

Residents may also submit reports regarding potholes in local roads, graffiti, overgrown lots and other neighborhood issues at KnoxvilleTN.gov/311, via email [email protected] or visit 211 online for a list of social services.

Residents can try the new 24/7 chatbot, Rocky Bot, which answers questions and provides information online (click on the raccoon on the right) and via SMS text by texting HELLO to 888-601-5669.

The City's Solid Waste Facility, 1033 Elm Street, will be closed Saturday, May 24, through Monday, May 26, resuming normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 27.

Waste Connections will run residential garbage and recycling routes on Monday. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only days when residential curbside trash and recycling are not picked up as scheduled.

Downtown trash and recyclables will be collected as usual during the holiday weekend.

Knoxville Area Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, May 26.

The City's four recycling drop-off centers will be open Memorial Day, but the Goodwill attendant will not be present to receive donations of household goods. Please refrain from leaving donations at unattended donation centers.
