Councilwoman Gwen McKenzie will lead a discussion about a proposed City of Knoxville contract extension with the National Institute of Criminal Justice Reform on Monday, May 12, 6-7 p.m., at Logan Temple AME Zion Church, 2744 Selma Ave.
This contract would pave the way for NICJR to hire a full-time program manager and get local Community Violence Interrupters back on city streets to continue their critical work.
Representatives from NICJR will share a presentation and answer any questions.
NICJR is a nationally recognized leader in community-based violence reduction. For nearly two years, the organization has been providing training and coaching to City staff and Knoxville community partners.
