Of the many helpful services the City provides, there’s one in particular Makenzie Read wants residents to know about.
Our Waste and Resources Coordinator worked with the Communications team to boost awareness of the Household Hazardous Waste facility at the Elm Street solid waste station.
The facility and its staff help residents safely dispose of the items labeled “poison” that can linger in residents’ garages and basements.
A key aspect of the facility Read wants to emphasize is its friendliness.
“People can think they’re in the wrong place because of the line of big trucks,” she said. “I want them to get familiar with what to expect and know that they belong here.”
