KUB Lane Closures in Ft. Sanders, Candora Rd., Hollywood Rd.

Due to utility work, KUB will have lane closures on Laurel Ave., Eighteenth St., Candora Rd. and Hollywood Rd. on November 8, 2018.

(Fort Sanders Area) Laurel Avenue & Eighteenth Street Lane Closures [November 8] – KUB crews will implement the below traffic control measures from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area:
• Laurel Avenue – reduced to one lane of eastbound traffic between 19th Street and 17th Street
• Eighteenth Street – reduced to one alternating lane of traffic between Laurel Avenue and Highland Avenue
Both traffic control measures will not be in place at the same time and will only be implemented as necessary to complete work. Appropriate signs and channeling devices will be on site to assist with traffic control. Friday, November 9, will be used as a rain date if necessary. 
 
(South Knoxville) Road Closure – Candora Road [November 8] – KUB crews will close a short section of Candora Road between Repass Road and Army Street from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., on Thursday, November 8, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. Alternate routes include Navy Drive, Repass Drive, and Gayland Heights Road. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. Friday, November 9, will be used as a rain date if necessary. 
 
(West Knoxville) Hollywood Road Lane Closure [November 8] – KUB contract crews will reduce a short section of Hollywood Road to one alternating lane of traffic between Papermill Drive and Sutherland Avenue from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. The southbound lane will be closed while the northbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic through the work zone. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control.  Monday, November 12, will be used as a rain date if necessary. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
