Humana Foundation Presents Checks to Local Nonprofits

Mayor Bill Haslam spoke today at The Humana Foundation's Economic Recovery Grant Celebration.

Lori Tucker of WATE-TV was Mistress of Ceremonies and Evans Looney - President Humana of Tennessee and Tim Moorhead - Market Practice Leader Humana of Tennessee and Mayor Haslam presented checks to six East Tennessee nonprofit organizations.

The Humana Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Humana and The Humana Foundation's Economic Recovery Grants were designed to provide assistance to East Tenn. nonprofit organizations that are struggling with difficult financial challenges in the midst of an economic situation that has dramatically increased the need for their services.

Those receiving money during the celebration were as follows:

The East Tenn. Technology Access Center Inc. - $15,000
Family Promise of Blount County - $10,000
InterFaith Health Clinic - $25,000
Safe Haven Center - $15,000
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tenn. - $25,000
Volunteer Ministry Center - $10,000
