Currently, we are featuring programs offering summer employment opportunities for youth:


City of Knoxville's Summer in the City Paid Internship Program
Interns will be placed in City departments and assigned various administrative and support tasks, while also participating in weekly personal and professional development sessions on topics such as financial literacy, mental health, motivation & team work, communications, and social justice. The weekly commitment for interns will be 30 hours per week, which includes participating in two community service projects.

City of Knoxville's Parks and Rec Positions
(Summer Camp Counselor, Lifeguards, Grounds Maintenance)
Knoxville Parks & Recreation Department (KPRD) values a diverse workforce and seeks ways to promote equity and inclusion within the organization. KPRD seeks candidates with knowledge, ability and experience working with a broad range of individuals and diverse communities.

ASM Paid Internship - Knoxville Convention Center, Civic Center, and Coliseum
Shadowing event managers learning how to assist clients and vendors with their events.
Become familiar with VenueOps program to put together floor plans for events.
Monitors in-house events, maintaining close contact with clients and staff to ensure successful events. Follows-up on client requests, concerns, and problems. 
Attends appropriate planning, organization, and other event facility meetings in support of operation. 
Other duties as assigned.

YWCA REACH Summer Internship
The Reach Program is a competitive, incentivized internship offered to young men and women, ages 14-18 years old. Students selected to participate in the program learn important skills for entering the workforce, including time management, accountability, conflict management, and financial literacy.
