Affordable Housing is a top priority for Mayor Indya Kincannon's administration. In Mayor Kincannon's first budget, for 2020-21, she appropriated $7.5 million to support affordable housing in Knoxville, including continuing the City’s investment of $2.5 million in the Affordable Rental Development Fund (ARDF) to support the creation of new affordable and workforce housing.
Affordable housing also includes helping people buy and maintain their existing home. The City of Knoxville does that through the Homemakers Program, Owner-Occupied Home Rehabilitation, and other City programs.
Mayor Kincannon's investment in affordable housing builds on efforts of her predecessor, Mayor Madeline Rogero.
