Danny Mayfield Park

Danny Mayfield Park sits on 1.5 acres and was opened as a neighborhood park during the renovation of historic Mechanicsville in 2004.

An outdoor art gallery displays various African art sculptures for public viewing. Other amenities include a large shelter with electricity, a playground, and an outdoor classroom for students from the adjacent Manyard Elementary School and the nearby Knoxville College.

Danny Mayfield Park

There is plenty of open space for field sports along with a playground and picnic shelter to enjoy.

Danny Mayfield Park

The park is well lighted and there is a sidewalk that borders the park perfect for walking, skateboarding and children on bicycles.

The park is named for the late Councilman Danny Mayfield, Knoxville College alumnus, co-founder of the urban ministry Tribe One, and a community leader who represented the 6th District from 1998 to 2001 until his death from bone cancer.
