February 17, 2014 - Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Police Chief David Rausch today named Diane Lewis the December Civilian Employee of the Month for the Knoxville Police Department. Ms. Lewis has been with KPD since March 2001.
Chief Rausch said that Ms. Lewis volunteered once again to assist with the Knoxville Police Department's Consolidated Charities Campaign by becoming the repository for the employee's pledge forms. Ms. Lewis would collect the pledges from the various divisions within the police department and ensured they were delivered to the campaign manager. This task was crucial to the campaign.
Chief Rausch said, "In addition to the monumental task of collecting the pledge forms, Ms. Lewis continued to show her volunteer spirit as she was instrumental in the collection and delivery of donated toys to the community."
On December 3, 2013, Ms. Lewis rode with a police officer and handed out toys to the many children in the Lonsdale, Western Heights, and Ridgebrook communities.
"Her efforts exemplify the important mission that employees of the department support our community," Chief Rausch concluded.
