City of Knoxville offices will be closed Monday, May 25, 2020, for the Memorial Day holiday. Please be advised of the following changes:
• The 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers, will be closed Monday. Residents needing to make reports to 311 or access 211 services are encouraged to visit
KnoxvilleTN.gov/311 to submit an online request, email
[email protected] or go to
tn211.mycommunitypt.com. For information on COVID-19 or Census 2020, and to access a list of social services available in our community, residents can utilize the chatbot at
KnoxvilleTN.gov/chat.
• The City's Solid Waste Facility, at 1033 Elm St., will be also closed Monday for the holiday, and continues to be closed on Saturdays. Weekdays the site accepts credit and debit cards only—no cash. The Household Hazardous Waste facility at the Transfer Station is closed until further notice.
• The City's five recycling drop-off centers will be open Monday, but the Goodwill attendant will not be on site to receive donations of household goods.
• Waste Connections will run its normal residential garbage and recycling routes; Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only days of the year when residential curbside trash and recycling are not picked up as scheduled. Crews will also collect downtown trash and recyclables on a regular schedule on Memorial Day.
