Burt Reynolds and Ariel Winter to Film Movie in Knoxville

Posted: 05/10/2016
The Visit Knoxville Film Office along with the Tennessee Entertainment Commission (TEC) is proud to announce that the feature film Dog Years starring American icon Burt Reynolds and co-starring Ariel Winter from ABC's Modern Family will be filming in Knoxville starting in June.

The Visit Knoxville Film Office director has been working with Producers Gordon Whitener, Neil Mandt and Writer/Director Adam Rifkin, to ensure locations, crew, talent, office space and hotels were secured for filming. "We are thrilled that the Dog Years team has decided to bring their project to Knoxville. In realizing the impact this film could have on our community, the City of Knoxville, as well as the County, have been very supportive in incentivizing this venture," says Curt Willis, Visit Knoxville Film Office Director.

The film is expected to employ over 100 people. This will bring exposure and an economic impact to Knoxville. "This feature film is great for our state as well as Knoxville. TEC's partnership to help this project come to fruition was instrumental," says Kim Bumpas, President, Visit Knoxville.

Dog Years is still seeking actors, locations and local vendors. For those interested in information on casting calls, have a location that you would like to submit or resources that might help, please contact [email protected].

Visit Knoxville and the Film Office are working with the production team to have a press conference at a later date.

The mission of the Visit Knoxville Film Office is to strengthen Knoxville's economy through the promotion of the city as a premiere filming location.
