Mayor Bill Haslam, Mayor Mike Ragsdale, David Jarnigan and members of the Knoxville Skatepark Task Force will hold a ribbon cutting for the new Knoxville Skatepark at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 31at Tyson Park on the site of the former University of Tennessee Lady Vols softball field.
This is the grand opening of the much-anticipated, 15,000-square-foot skate park.
The project was supported financially by the City of Knoxville, Knox County, Lamar Advertising and gifts from citizens and others including skating legend Tony Hawk.
