The Parks and Recreation Department follows Rules / Ordinances set up by the City of Knoxville.

ADDITIONAL RULES AT PARKS

Listed below are rules that are in addition to rules that apply to all City Parks.


Caswell Park Ballfields
• No outside food or drink permitted
• Smoking permitted only in designated areas
• No pets 


Ridley-Helton Field

• No pets

Dog Parks
• Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the dog park and dog owners must have a leash in hand at all times inside the dog park.
• The City of Knoxville is not responsible for injuries to dogs, their owners/handlers, or others that use this dog park.This area is for dogs and their handlers only.
• Limit of two dogs per adult.
• No smoking within fenced area.
• No food within fenced area (human or dog).
• Dog waste must be cleaned up immediately by the dog owners.
• Dogs must display current rabies vaccination tags and license on their collars.
• Dogs in heat or puppies under 4 months are prohibited.
• Dog owners are responsible for ensuring that their dogs do not escape from the fenced area.
• Small children and infants must be under the supervision of a guardian at all times.
• Excessive barking is prohibited.Dogs barking excessively must be removed.
• Dogs showing aggression toward people or other animals must be removed from the park.
• Dog owners must be in the dog park with their dogs at all times

Fort Dickerson Park
• No jumping / diving from cliffs
• Stay back 10 feet from all cliffs as serious injury or death may occur
• Swimming is allowed.  No lifeguard on duty.  Swim at own risk.  Personal flotation devices are recommended.
• Non-motorized water vessels such as kayaks, canoes, etc. are permitted.


River Bluff Wildlife Area
• No jumping / diving from cliffs
• Stay back 10 feet from all cliffs as serious injury or death may occur
• No hitting golf balls


Knoxville Skatepark

• Open daily from dawn to 11:00 p.m.
• The park is unsupervised.
• Skate at your own risk.
• Skatepark Rules:
• Helmets are required
• Elbow & kneepads are recommended.
• Skateboards, skates and BMX bikes only in the park
• BMX bikes with pegs must be equipped with skatepark friendly pegs - plastic or PVC covers are suggested
• Avoid skating when the surface is wet (rain, snow, etc.)
• No alcohol, drugs, profanity or fighting
• Scooters, mountain bikes and motorized devices are not permitted
• Vandalism, including graffiti, stickers, and tagging, is illegal. If this occurs, it may require the park to be closed temporarily
• Be courteous and respectful of others
• No other items such as benches, tables, etc. may be used as ramps or jumps in the skatepark
• Events, lessons, and other organized activities required written permission
• Glass containers are prohibited in or near the skating surface.

• Failure to follow these rules may result in loss of privileges or other action
• Please keep your skatepark clean and safe 


Suttree Landing Park
• Park is open 24 hours (not dawn to dusk)
