The Greenways Commission was created to study the needs and desires of city residents and to promote the development of new greenways and the maintenance of existing ones.
APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS
The Commission consists of up to 20 members who reside in Knox County, but the majority of the members must be residents in the City of Knoxville. Members are appointed by the Mayor for three-year terms.
The Greenways Commission meets on the second Tuesday in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. Meetings are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center at 900 Volunteer Landing. The April 2017 meeting will be at Charter Doyle Park, 5100 West Martin Mill Pk.
