Since 1834, the East Tennessee Historical Society has been telling the stories, collecting artifacts and recording the events that comprise our region's unique history. The mission of the East Tennessee Historical Society is to "preserve, interpret, and promote the history of Tennessee, with special focus on East Tennessee.


APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS

The Board usually meets six times a year. It is comprised of Officers and Directors. Officers serve one-year terms but no more than three consecutive terms. Directors serve three-year terms but no more than two consecutive terms. A representative from the City and County governments may serve on the Board for a three-year term.


MEETINGS SCHEDULE

The East Tennessee Historical Society meets the third Tuesday in the months of February, April, June, August, October, and December. Meetings are held at 12 noon in the BB&T Bank located at 900 S. Gay Street, 24th floor.
