Ramsey House will celebrate Statehood Day with free tours, a special exhibit and two free workshops.

On Saturday, May 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., visitors may view artifacts pertaining to the musical instruments of the African American slaves who lived on site which were obtained during archeological excavations at Ramsey House.

These artifacts include harmonica reeds and Jew's harps. Also on exhibit will be various early banjoes which were introduced to North America by African American slaves.

Workshops will include Michael Crawley on harmonica from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, and Matt Morelock with Jew's Harp and banjo from noon until 2:00 p.m.
