Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – W. Church Avenue Road Closure [March 23-24] – KUB and its contractor will close a short section of W. Church Avenue between Locust Street and Henley Street to traffic overnight from 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, through 6 a.m., Thursday, March 24, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. The northbound, curbside lanes of Henley Street will also be closed during this time frame.
Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Cumberland Avenue Lane Closure [March 24] – KUB and its contractor will implement a lane closure of one westbound lane of Cumberland Avenue between Henley Street and Locust Street from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., on Thursday, March 24, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary.
Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Clinch Avenue Road Closure [Extended through April 1] – KUB and its contractor will maintain a full road closure due to construction conditions encountered on the section of Clinch Avenue between Henley Street and Locust Street through 6 p.m., Friday, April 1, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting.
(East Knoxville) Winona Street Lane Closure [March 24 – April 1] – KUB and its contractor will reduce a short section of Winona Street to one alternating lane of traffic between Fifth Avenue and Jefferson Avenue from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily Monday- Friday, starting Thursday, March 24, through Friday, April 1, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Crews will perform work at various points throughout this area, and the lane closure will shift based on the location where work is being completed. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic, and access will be maintained to driveways and parking areas.
(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closure [Extended - March 24] – KUB crews will close a short section of the westbound, curbside lane of Kingston Pike between Downtown West Boulevard and N. Gallaher View Road from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. One westbound lane, the center turn lane, and both eastbound lanes will remain open. Access to driveways will be maintained, and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures, including flagmen, will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the area. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in this area.
