ThinkProgress features Knoxville and its Growth as a Leader in Sustainability

Posted: 08/01/2013
The nonpartisan website ThinkProgress has published an in-depth article about Knoxville's progression as a green city.

The story looks at Knoxville's early efforts to promote a clean economy and cites the City's success in reducing its carbon footprint, increasing the use of solar energy and saving taxpayers money through energy efficiency programs.

It also highlights the challenges faced by Mayor Rogero and others who were early proponents of sustainability as well as the policies that pushed Knoxville to be ranked as one of the fastest growing metro areas for green jobs in the country.
