Sept. 11th Remembrance Ceremony

Be a part of the 9/11 Observance at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 11 on the lawn of the City County Building near the 9/11 Memorial.

Knoxville and Knox County families that lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks will be the guests of honor.

Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett will be the main speaker and WIVK's Gunner will serve as master of ceremonies.

Boy Scouts Hayden Hayner and Jacob Eubanks with Troup 451 will lead the pledge of allegiance.

The Central High School Select Choraliers, directed by Beckye Justice Thomas and accompanied by Dave Eilart, will perform during the ceremony and Bagpiper Wyatt Brown will help close the observance.

There will also be a wreath-laying at the 9/11 Memorial during Saturday's event in remembrance of those who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania.
