  CODI features guest presenters at our monthly regular CODI meetings to help educate our members on the current trends and issues seen within the Disability Community both locally and nationwide. The Mayor’s Council on Disability Issues (CODI) is an advisory council to the City of Knoxville on disability-related programs and policies. Created in 1984, this 9 to 21-member council provides information to the City on current events or concerns within the disability community. The regular meetings of the Mayor's Council On Disability Issues (CODI) are held monthly, on the second Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. either via Zoom or out in the Knoxville community. Typically CODI meetings last until 5:00 p.m. All regular meetings, committee meetings, and special meetings are open to the public. If you would like to attend one of our Zoom meetings, please email [email protected] no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting time.

The City of Knoxville ensures meaningful access to City programs, services, and activities to comply with Civil Rights Title VI and ADA Title II laws and reasonably provides translation, interpretation, modifications, accommodations, alternative formats, auxiliary aids and services.

For disability accommodations, contact City's ADA Coordinator at [email protected] or 865-215-3100 at least 72 hours before the meeting.


APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL MEMBERS

The council consists of at least nine and up to 21 members. The members are approved and appointed by the Mayor. Terms are for three years. Members cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
