Deadly Shooting on Bradshaw Garden Road

Update on Bradshaw Garden Road Investigation (January 19, 2023, 4 p.m.)

Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes investigators are continuing to work active leads in the ongoing investigation into the shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 on Bradshaw Garden Road, which resulted in the death of 30-year-old Jeronimo Gomez.

The investigation so far has revealed that a traffic accident occurred in front of a home in the 1200 block of Bradshaw Garden Road. Immediately following the accident, an involved individual driving what has been identified as a midnight black Toyota Camry was then physically confronted by Gomez and shots were fired.

The other involved party then left the scene in the aforementioned Camry, which is a 2010s model. The Camry has light-colored rims and should have front-end and driver’s side damage from the accident that preceded the incident. The Camry is also missing a door handle, which is pictured.

KPD investigators have not yet identified the other involved party and are strongly encouraging that person to do the right thing and come forward.

Victim Identified from Deadly Shooting on Bradshaw Garden Road (Update: January 18, 2023, 1:40 p.m.)

The victim of the deadly shooting in the 1200 block of Bradshaw Garden Road has been identified as Jeronimo Gomez, 30 of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Investigators are continuing to work to identify the sedan and driver of the sedan involved in the incident that left the scene prior to officer arrival.

Deadly Shooting on Bradshaw Garden Road

At around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, KPD officers responded to a shooting with a victim in the 1200 block of Bradshaw Garden Road.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a suspected physical confrontation occurred and shots were fired. A man was struck by the gunfire and transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A dark-colored four-door sedan believed to have been involved in the shooting left the scene prior to officer arrival. The sedan is likely muddy with damage to the front-end or driver’s side of the vehicle.

Efforts remain ongoing to identify the vehicle and driver of the vehicle.
