KPD Investigating After Woman Found Dead in Car on Louise Avenue 
Victim Found Shot in Car Identified (July 18, 2022, 10:50 a.m.)

The victim who was found shot in a car in an alley on Louise Avenue has been identified as 26-year-old Jefasha Mitchell of Knoxville, Tennessee. At this time, the circumstances that led to Jefasha’s death remain unclear, a suspect has not been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Original Release

At around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to an alley in the 2500 block of Louise Avenue. A woman who had been shot at least one time was found unresponsive in a car parked in the alley. She was removed from the car and life-saving measures were rendered until she was transported to the UT Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Numerous individuals were interviewed at the scene, but a suspect has not been identified.
