Drug and Weapon Arrests for Week of January 24
This past week, Knoxville Police Department officers continued their proactive efforts to take drugs and guns off of the streets of Knoxville.

In a review of KPD incident reports from Monday, January 24 through Sunday, January 30, KPD officers either arrested or charged 55 individuals with weapon or drug charges. The ages of those charged ranged from 16 to 61.

Over that seven-day span, KPD officers seized at least the following: nine firearms that were possessed in violation of state law, nearly 30 grams of heroin, almost 20 grams of meth, over 13 grams of cocaine, three grams of suspected fentanyl, 263 pills and almost 100 individual pieces of drug paraphernalia.

The charges from those incidents included three for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two for possession of a firearm while under the influence, two for possession of a stolen firearm, eight for manufacture, sale or delivery of drugs and two for auto theft among a multitude of other charges.

KPD officers will continue to work hard to take deadly, dangerous and addictive narcotics off of the streets of Knoxville as well as firearms from prohibited persons or those who wish to do harm in the community.

Public safety is a shared responsibility, and the efforts of officers to combat the drug overdose epidemic and prevent violent crime rely on engaged community participation.
