Investigators Still Working to Identify Unknown Female Present at Scene of Assault
UPDATE (December 21, 8:10 a.m.): Investigators have successfully identified this woman. She was identified through a tip that was submitted to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers.

-----

Violent Crimes Unit investigators are still actively attempting to identify the unknown woman who was in the company of a man involved in an assault that occurred at an area Pilot gas station on December 13. On that day, at around 1:30 a.m., KPD officers responded to the Pilot located at 2518 N. Broadway in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, 43-year-old Branden Lenz was found unresponsive near the parking lot of the Pilot. Lenz was transported to the UT Medical Center in critical condition, where he died from his injuries on Thursday evening. The investigation shows that Lenz was struck by an unidentified man, who was with the pictured woman, following a confrontation. The two fled the scene prior to officer arrival and neither have been identified at this time.

The woman has a cleft lip, and is believed to be homeless and frequent the Pilot where the assault occurred. Anyone with information regarding her identity or possible whereabouts is asked to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers by phone at 865-215-7165, online at www.easttnvalleycrimestoppers.org or via the P3 Tips mobile app. Tipsters will remain anonymous and be eligible to receive a cash reward.

The investigation continues.
