Mayor Challenges Staff, Public to #GiveADayKnox
In May 2017, Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett challenged residents to show their volunteer spirit during Give A Day Knoxville, from Sept. 2 to 8, by giving their time to a local charity, donating money or doing a kind deed.
Mayor Rogero pitched in with the CAC Office on Aging's Mobile Meals program, which provides hot, nutritious lunches for homebound senior citizens in our community.
With the car loaded with hot meals, Mayor Rogero pauses to thank Mobile Meals director Judith Pelot for her work helping feed approximately 850 seniors per day.
It's not every day you open your door to find the Mayor on your porch! Mabel Buckner welcomes Mayor Rogero into her home.
Give A Day Knoxville, organized by
Volunteer East Tennessee
, kicks off the
United Way of Greater Knoxville
's annual giving campaign.
City of Knoxville employees get ready to deliver Mobile Meals.
Volunteer East Tennessee connects volunteers with volunteer opportunities all year long. To find ways you can pitch in, visit
