KEEM Weatherization Program Takes a Bow

The Public Works Building's meeting room was full of people celebrating the success of the Knoxville Extreme Energy Makeover (KEEM) on Wednesday morning. 

Mayor Madeline Rogero thanked all the partners who, over the course of almost two years, helped improve the energy efficiency of homes for nearly 1,300 families.

The program couldn’t have happened at this scale without the $15 million grant from TVA’s EnergyRight program, the Mayor said.

Estes shared the words from some thank-you notes sent by men and women whose homes had received the extreme makeovers. Their exuberant and emotional expressions of gratitude brought home the impact on the hundreds of people whose homes will be more comfortable and affordable.

“That’s what this is about,” Mayor Rogero said after the notes were read.
