On Sept. 23, 2020, Mayor Indya Kincannon, City Council members, community partners and advocates officially cut a ribbon and dedicated the rejuvenated Cal Johnson Recreation Center, 507 Hall of Fame Drive.

The top-to-bottom inside-and-out transformation of the rec center and park reflects a $721,866 City investment and a privately-funded $100,000 public art project. (Many thanks to 2K Foundations and Lady Vol legend Candace Parker.)

The City has installed a new 4,500-square-foot $81,700 playground at Cal Johnson.

A new $71,031 fitness room has been added during a major renovation of Cal Johnson Rec Center.

Cal Johnson Rec Center was reconfigured to create space for this multipurpose room.
