Open Streets Event: School to Hand Out Free Kids' Halloween Costumes 
Halloween Costume Giveaways at Open Streets

It will certainly be a treat that kids receive when they stop by the South Knox Elementary School during the Open Streets event this Sunday, October 29, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The school has nine boxes of Halloween costumes that will be handed out for free to children who participate in the school’s fitness booth during the event.

While supplies last, the assortment of Halloween costume giveaways will include vampires, witches, princesses, pumpkins, pirates, Hello Kitty characters, cowboys, cats, and Pikachu characters.
 
The playground will also be opened for free play through the duration of the event.

South Knox Elementary

At Open Streets events, the roads are closed to vehicular traffic, allowing families to wander the streets, this time on the Gay Street Bridge, Council Place, Sevier Avenue and the new Waterfront Drive.

“Open Streets is a great way showcase how the school serves as the nucleus of the community,” said Tanna Nicely, Principal at South Knox Elementary. “Children will have the opportunity to be active on a Sunday with their parents, businesses, and community groups celebrating one, big event together.”

Principal Nicely said the costumes were paid for through a national grant called Project 360.
