38-year-old Christopher Gordy arrested for Attempted Aggravated Burglary and Criminal Impersonation
On Saturday, March 21 at 5:09 p.m., KPD officers responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Forest Avenue. The complainant called to report that a man was attempting to break into an apartment. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a black backpack and gray sweatpants.
While speaking with the complainant, the victim arrived on foot and advised officers that the suspect had attempted to gain entry into his apartment in the 1400 block of Forest Avenue. The victim stated the he heard someone using a tool to pry on his door when he opened the door to confront the suspect. The victim stated that the suspect told him he was a police officer, pulled a flashlight from his pocked and fled on foot.
Officers were able to locate the suspect, 38-year-old Christopher Gordy, at his residence on Forest Avenue. He was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Aggravated Burglary and Criminal Impersonation.
32-year-old Adam Nation arrested
On Saturday, March 21 at 6:43 p.m., KPD officers responded to an address on Pepperdine Way to serve a warrant on 32-year-old Adam Nation for Violation of CAPP for Aggravated Burglary. As officers were arriving on scene, they witnessed a male matching the description of Nation running in front of cars to cross Middlebrook Pike near Fellowship Church. Officers exited their vehicle and verbally instructed the suspect to stop, but he did not comply, jumped over a fence and continued to flee through a wooded area into a neighboring residential area.
Additional units responded and established a perimeter with the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. A K-9 unit also responded to the scene to conduct an extensive track. Officers were able to take Nation into custody in front of a residence in the 700 block of Westborough Road.
